Enjoy the story of Lotte Giants Museum from the past to present.
“Giants Baseball Museum” featuring the history of Lotte Giants, the original members of Korean professional baseball, was opened in the wake of the 2009 opening season.
Located on the 2nd floor of Sajik Stadium, the museum allows approximately 50 people to enjoy games in a leisurely setting spanning total area of 496㎡ (approx. 150 pyeong); it exhibits around 400 artifacts, featuring the rich history of Lotte Giants.
The main features are heroes, the first/second-place, History Center, Artifact Center, Experience Center; at the entrance, visitors are greeted with the main milestone of Lotte Giants, followed by a promotion center that exhibits the mascot, all dolls of the past and caps.
At the Giants Hero Center, pictures and baseball equipments related to four legendary Giants players are exhibited: Choi Dong-won, the super ace and main player of Lotte as well as the leader of the victorious 1984 team; Yoon Hak-gil, a solitary prince who achieved 74 wins out of 100 games played; Park Jung-tae, the spirit of Lotte and also dubbed 'Tank', who fought through serious injury; and Kim Eung-gook or Tiger Butterfly who wore only the Lotte uniform for 15 years and took an active role in every game.
Next, the first/second-place section exhibits historical materials, such as jerseyes and gloves of the two victories (1984 and 1992) and the second place (1995 and 1999); the section offers vivid presentation, brimming with excitement and inspiration of the times.
History Center contains the lists of the winners of golden gloves throughout history, including all-star players, past player/coach lists, as well as historical records, such as trophies and fan yearbooks. Other exhibits present invitations and photos of the Lotte foundation in 1975.
The Equipment Center provides details about the transition history of uniforms of all Lotte Giants team of the past, including the manufacturing process of gloves/balls/bats. Furthermore, visitors can learn about the basic rules, such as how to throw a ball, and gain introduction and various curve balls.
The special exhibition space inside the Equipment Center exhibits the samples of baseball gold medals from the 2008 Beijing Olympics and personal artifacts of Lee Dae-ho, who achieved a triple crown in 2006 and the first foreign manager Jerry Royster. The equipment for catcher gear is provided in a showcase and also exhibits Lotte Amateur Baseball Game materials.
The Experience Center is a miniature of the baseball stadium and displays various features, such as the batter box, dug out, stand, locker room, and indoor bullpen. Itemized key players and pitcher/catcher photos that represent Lotte Giants are provided, allowing visitors to enjoy photography while watching games.
